  • Thrilled to be partnering with the beautiful and talented Melissa-Marie Shriner once again, this time with very different material!  Melissa-Marie and I will bring you our favourite Jazz and Blues rep, along with fabulous pianist Robert Horvath and an exciting rhythm section!   This will be at 120 Diner, at 120 Church Street.    It is a ‘dinner/theatre’ type venue, so plan on your evening to include dinner and our show!   Seating is limited... you don’t want to miss this!

  • Delighted to have been asked to sing with Chorus York once again, this time as Soprano Soloist for Vivaldi’s Gloria in D+, and supporting the Chorus throughout, and once again under the baton of Stephane Potvin, an inspiring and exciting conductor to work with!   There will be two performances, May 4th and 5th 2019.   Stay tuned for more details! 

    I will sing the #6 Domine Deus, and with Soprano Angela Gibbon in the wonderful Laudamus Te Duet.   Angela will sing the other two solos!   The remainder of the program are beautiful works by Tallis, Byrd and more!


    From the Choir:

    As winter finally leaves and spring is in the air, Chorus York and Artistic Director Stephane Potvin invite you to join us in welcoming the season with our annual spring concert. This year’s concert, entitled Classics in the Spring, is a program of classical repertoire, including Vivaldi’s Gloria, with guest soloists Angela Gibbon and Kira Braun. Also on the program are works by Tallis, Boyce, and Byrd. The accompanist for the concert is organist, Richard Hansen.

    There will be two opportunities to enjoy this program. On Saturday, May 4th,

    the concert will be presented at 8:00 p.m. at St. Matthew’s United Church, 333

    Crosby Ave., Richmond Hill, with a reception to follow. The program will be presented again the following day, Sunday, May 5th, at 3:00 p.m. at Thornhill Presbyterian Church, 271 Centre St.,Thornhill.

    Tickets are available at or at the door.

    Prices are as follows: $25 (Reg.), $20 (Sr.), $15 (Stu. with ID), $55 (Family, 2 adults, 2 children under age 18), Free (children under age 10).

  • I am thrilled to be headed to St. Catharines again soon, for a Concert on October 13th ~ A very special occasion, this Concert will be an observation of the Centennial of the Russian Revolution and a Memorial of the Mennonite lives that were lost and who suffered during this time, and of 100 years of Mennonite aspirations and progress since then.

    Joining a Mass Choir under the direction of John Rempel, I will sing 2 verses from the fourth part of Schubert’s Deutsche Messe in F ~ The Offertorium.

    It is very exciting to be a part of this important vigil and I am humbled to have the opportunity to raise my voice in a thoughtful reflection of humanity and its struggles.

  • This concert is part of a series being held in multiple cities (Oshawa, Ottawa, NYC, Montreal), each organized and hosted by local artists. The Toronto concert was spurred on by the recent, and many revelations in our musical and theatrical communiteis. 

    All proceeds from Inglorious Women: Toronto will go to the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic.  They assist under-represented women to build lives free from violence through professional counselling, legal representation, and multi-lingual interpretation.

  • I am thrilled to have been selected to participate in this exciting adventure!  After an intensive 4 weekends of Masterclasses with Maestro Álvaro Lozano Gutiérrez, I will join the other selected singers in a concert at Koerner Hall.   The opera Masterclasses we will attend offer a unique coaching and performance opportunity for singers in their early career.    Opera For All Masterclass

About Kira Braun

Kira Braun possesses a light lyric coloratura voice, perfect for Baroque repertoire and Oratorio, as well as many ingenue roles in Opera. Also a Jazz lover, she enjoys performing various works, with a particular passion for pieces from the 1930’s and 40’s.   Pursuing a singing career has only recently become a reality in the past 4 years.  To further this and to expand her ability, Kira is currently enrolled at York University, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.
